Solid Snake’s new nickname is appropriately “Old Snake” in Metal Gear Solid 4.

I just completed Metal Gear Solid 4 last night so I figured I’d spend some time today to put together a review. Those of you reading this review are probably curious how I feel about it as a pretty die hard Metal Gear Solid fan (I had better be if I waited in line for eight hours to meet the creator of Metal Gear Solid, Hideo Kojima).

Here are my quick good & bad:
Good:
- Spectacular presentation of graphics and sound
- Tons of fan service – references to older Metal Gear Solid games all over the place
- Refined Metal Gear Solid gameplay that makes it more fun and less frustrating than previous games

Bad:
- Very short. Game consists of 5 acts that take about 1 hour each.
- Feels like half of the game is just watching cutscenes.
- Storyline is far more convoluted than it needs to be and sometimes drags on.

Meet the creator of one of my favorite video game series of all time?

Last night I decided to go wait in line for 8 hours at the Times Square Virgin Megastore to get a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4 signed by Hideo Kojima, the creator of Metal Gear Solid. What’s funny is I don’t even have a PS3, but I still had to go anyway because this guy is a legend! Read on for more photos and my blogging of the event.
