Going to change up my weekly thoughts entries to shortened gaming related thoughts I’ve had each week. Here’s this week:

Left 4 Dead – Finally got the 1000. Dang it why did one of my friends have to just get the game this week though. Why couldn’t he have gotten it weeks ago?!

Shadowrun – Cool now maybe I can get back into this for multiplayer since I no longer have another multiplayer game to play at the moment.

Mirror’s Edge – Stupid Time Trial modes. I better just suck it up and beat them. Maybe I can clear them out this weekend.

Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway – I should try to beat this soon so I can get rid of it while it still has some value.

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 – I wanted to start it but it’s getting bumped down so I can get through Brothers in Arms first.

Call of Duty: World at War – Tried it out again recently and maybe I won’t be able to hit the first Prestige after all. It’s just not fun anymore and the fact that I’ll have to put maybe 20 more hours in to get it means I’m pushing it back in my backlog queue in hopes the desire comes back later.

Prince of Persia – Looks interesting, but dang it there’s an Achievement for collecting like 1001 gems or something in the game? Ugh I’ll get to it later then. Same reason I ended up putting Naruto: Rise of a Ninja off.

Gears of War 2 – Epic announced that they’re actually going to release a patch to balance the multiplayer game sometime this month? Too late. And why aren’t they fixing the matchmaking that still takes 10 minutes to find a game?!

I was wondering how come you never tried Dead Space out?

Personally I hate most games EA comes out with because I always felt all their games come out of assembly line and not much thought is put into them.

I downloaded the demo and I was surprised at how great the game was. I started the download, when I was more than 75% through, I realized it was an EA game and I decided I’ll just give it a quick try before deleting, glad I did download it.

I have ordered Dead Space, Fallout 3, and the Darkness (because it was made by the same guys who made Bioshock, I hope it’s half as good!)

Unfortunately I live outside of the US, but my Xbox is a US one and what I usually do is have to order the games from the US which take up to 10 days to arrive.

Can’t wait to play Fallout 3!!!

I never knew you already have played Dead Space. I started to use your website as my primary place to get quality game reviews, and when I liked the Dead Space demo, I came here to look if you did review it. I could swear the search function didn’t work well a few days ago.

Once again, you review seems to echo what I felt about the demo.

This a really great website! Keep up the great quality reviews, I’ll always be here checking on any of your reviews on the many games to come this year!

    Thanks for the awesome website!

nuts. you know, it’s funny because all of us ended up playing it pretty hardcore over the holidays instead of spending a lot of time with our familes haha. i even took my 360 home! if you like the game, i wouldn’t trade it in just yet. i’m not planning on trading this game in since i do enjoy playing through it on expert and versus modes – plus more downloadable content is about to be announced so i’m curious about that. trust me…i want to play expert some more!!

SmA, I actually played and thoroughly enjoyed Dead Space. Check out my review I wrote back in November for my thoughts on it.

With EA, I do agree with you in a sense. The company has taken a lot of hits but because of that they’ve actually expanded out and tried some innovative games. I personally don’t buy any of the EA annual sports titles or their licensed content (LotR, Harry Potter, etc.) but their original content is pretty good whether it’s inhouse or through companies they’ve recently bought. Games like Dead Space, Mirror’s Edge, Battlefield, Command & Conquer, Burnout, etc. are all pretty good in-house titles so I don’t think you should skip out on EA altogether. While it was cool in 2007 to hate on EA, 2008 was a great year in “non-assembly line” releases for them. Unfortunately, they didn’t make a lot of money last year, so I think they’re going to go back to the assembly line mentality for 2009 to be profitable again. Sucks for us gamers, but I guess we can’t complain since we weren’t buying their titles. (Dead Space and Mirror’s Edge didn’t sell enough for them, etc.)

I have the Darkness somewhere in my backlog as well…in fact I haven’t even opened it yet! But I will get to it eventually…haha
