eeyore – i got excited that i got approval for the ps3 because that was the hardest part!! now that i’m golden with that, the sky is the limit on what i can play haha

btw…update on my progress. Amazon sent me an email giving me a revised update on my ps3 delivery. it got moved from 3/30 to 3/8 (next Monday). I promptly canceled my order. For cancellation reason, I chose “Other” and typed:

“when I placed this order I thought I wouldn’t be getting it for another month. I was just informed I was going to now receive my order next week. I am very unsatisfied that you were able to ship me my product 3 weeks sooner than anticipated but I am not prepared to receive it this soon! I will maybe re-order it again next month. BTW, keep up the good work.”

Well, something like that haha…I’m going to still see if I can find a Gamestop I can trade my 360 into for the bonus credit before settling on Amazon. the trade-in deal ends 3/14, so if I can’t find one by then, it’s back to placing an order with amazon.

it sucks though that it’s just my luck to want to buy a ps3 right before god of war 3 comes out – and it’s not even the reason why i want to buy the system! but it would have been nice if there was a god of war 3 bundle haha

we’ll see though – final fantasy xiii arrives next week, so i may end up forgetting about the ps3 for a while. of course, i already “ordered it” on amazon just to get on the 1 month wait list. i’ll cancel when it gets closer to its estimated release date…but if they ship it sooner, i guess i may have to end up buying it (and tell my wife I got it from Gamestop hah)

I do have a master plan in the works though, following these steps and corresponding approval…

Step 1: Purchase a 2nd TV for our living room (approved, but waiting about a year so our 8-month-old Aaron reaches an age when we can advise him not to touch our electronics)
Step 2: Purchase “media streaming” hardware to accompany the 2nd TV, in the form of either 360 or PS3 (approved for “generic media streamer”, but currently only at a low price point). If hardware is PS3, skip Step 3.
Step 3: Figure out a way to trade in “extra” 360 console for PS3.
Step 4: Revel in the completion of the master plan.

Somewhere in there, I think another PS3 price drop is going to be necessary. I just wonder if it’s ever going to happen anytime soon…

1. Funniest post ever. I feel your pain, I hate being denied at the last step after having gone through all the legwork.
2. Don’t get a PS3, because then I’ll be tempted and my wife never exchanges her clothes!
