I just want to first say hello, and also that I think it's great what you guys are doing here. I found this site looking for personal accounts of playing Infinite Undiscovery. So far I'm only a couple of hours in (I don't get much time to play games recently), but I've noticed a lot of problems that is mentioned here and some others that just make the game feel like a cheap but close knockoff of Final Fantasy. In fact, it feels like an abandoned Final Fantasy game finished a few years later in a rush to give something to Microsoft.
Anyway, after looking through your other reviews, I am convinced that Lost Odyssey is the game for me. I want something like a classic Final Fantasy (a la vii or viii) but with good graphics. And yes, I'm one of those who puts VIII (and XII) at the top of his list right under VII.
cool thanks for the kind words man! glad to hear that you're also a fan of JRPGs. I haven't played any of Tri-Ace's later RPGs since Infinite Undiscovery (been too busy) – but I do have Star Ocean: The Last Hope and Resonance of Fate still sitting in my backlog. Hopefully I can get to them at some point!
OH and yeah you'll definitely enjoy Lost Odyssey if you like old school JRPGs!
