For any hardcore or old-school gamer, Capcom is one of the biggest bright spots in the gaming industry. With franchises like Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Mega Man, Dead Rising, and Phoenix Wright, it just seems like they have a great portfolio of games that gamers want to play. But recently, I’ve started to get a little bit peeved over their various decisions but it wasn’t until this past week that I feel like they’ve really sold out. Let’s examine the evidence.

After over ten years, Marvel vs. Capcom has returned and it’s great.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was one of the top games I anticipated this year, and subsequently, is one of only a handful of games that I would pick up on launch day. Happy New Year! It’s now 2011 so we’re going to kick off this year with our top most anticipated games for 2011. Of course, there is a slight possibility that one or more of these games may not make it in 2011, as well as a possibility that they may not turn out so well. We have big sequels like Gears of War 3, Uncharted 3, Dead Space 2, etc. so 2011 is already shaping up to be a better year than 2010 (at least, in my humble opinion). Yet, it appears that my most anticipated games are all “sequels” that have not been churned out in a long time. Hit the jump to see all of these major franchises that are returning in 2011 that I can’t wait to play.

E3 2010 takes place this week starting tomorrow from June 15 through Thursday June 17, so there should be a lot of notable gaming news and announcements that we’ll be very excited to talk about. While most of the good stuff is probably under lockdown until E3 when they are announced, some publishers have already revealed their (partial) E3 2010 lineups. I’ve gone through and pulled out a few titles that I am definitely looking forward to hearing more info about in addition to any other crazy potential surprises!
