This will be me in a few weeks. Until then: UAV online!

Unfortunately, I haven’t played enough new content for a new post, but I’ve been playing enough games to do a thoughts post. The simple fact of the matter is, I’m addicted to Modern Warfare 3 (50 hours and counting). The real question is, can anything change that?

Unfortunately, Raiden is still in this game

Metal Gear Solid has long been one of my favorite series (although only espion4ge has the right to say it gave him a gamertag!). I still remember watching my friend play through the entire Tanker chapter of MGS2 without even having a memory card to save on. When the new Metal Gear Solid HD Collection was released, I saw and seized the opportunity to own two of my favorite games of all time and a third game (Peace Walker) that I had never played.

Microsoft hasn’t forgotten the hardcore gamers – there’s Sesame Street!

I’ve been so busy in life lately that I actually forgot about E3 already being under way. I know that big titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Elder Scrolls V are coming out at the end of this year, but does Microsoft have any interesting games up its sleeves? Weren’t there supposed to be Kinect games for hardcore gamers announced this year? Why have you forsaken the hardcore gamer, Microsoft?

Hope all of you had a great Christmas weekend! Merry Christmas: From me, to me

I started flirting with the idea of getting a PS3 around the time espion4ge started his long journey to acquire one. In fact, I actually ordered one once but canceled the order before it shipped. When Amazon matched Walmart’s $100 gift card credit, I finally ended up pulling the trigger. I was going to do some Red Dead Redemption impressions, but since my mind is all Starcraft (again) and PS3 right now, I figured I’d write about the games I’m planning on playing for the PS3.

Being able to play Final Fantasy VII on my PSP for $10? Sign me up!

I’ve been traveling a lot for both personal and business reasons for this past week or so, and the PSP has been my only source of gaming on my trips. One of the things that I think is really cool about owning a PS3 and a PSP is the PS One Classics line. These are PS1 games that are sold through PSN between $6-$10 in price, and are digital downloads that can be played on both the PS3 and the PSP. Considering the PS1 graphics aren’t too great on our HD TV sets these days, I’m not a big fan of playing the games on the PS3, but on the go with my PSP? Perfect! Hit the jump for a list of PS One Classics currently available that I will probably purchase at some point and a list of remaining PS1 games that I hope come out for download in the future for us here in the States.

Big Boss sneaks his way through the jungles of Costa Rica in the best Metal Gear Solid yet.

It’s been a pretty long time since I picked up the Big Boss PSP bundle back in June. What happened to it? With all of my articles devoted to Starcraft 2 as of late, some of you may be wondering if I had even played it yet. The answer is most definitely yes. I’ve been playing Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker on my hour long commute home from work every day now for the past month, and I’ve actually already gotten the credits to roll but the game has so much post-game that I suspect that I will eventually hit 100 hours in this game. Hit the jump to read the review on what I now consider my favorite Metal Gear Solid game of the franchise.

I just started playing Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker at the end of last week after beating Portable Ops. This past weekend, I took my wife to the mall (as usual) and with the Metal Gear Solid games not working too well for portability in a mall, I decided to bring my DS and Dragon Quest IX instead. After putting about an hour or two into both games now, I’ve started to really enjoy both. I like each so much that I had a very difficult time deciding what to play today on the subway. So…I ended up packing both my DS Lite and my PSP into my bag to bring to work. This can’t keep happening though. Only one will become the victor…who will it be?

Read on for the background behind each of these major portable heavy hitters this summer as well as my very short initial impressions of both.

Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops continues the tale of Naked Snake, a.k.a. Big Boss

It’s been about a month and a half since I picked up the Big Boss PSP bundle, as I was so excited to play Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Of course, it was recommended that I play through Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops first, and so I’ve finally done so. Now Peace Walker is finally sitting in my PSP! In any case, I am ready to share a review on Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. Is it still worth checking out today?
