Unfortunately, I haven’t played enough new content for a new post, but I’ve been playing enough games to do a thoughts post. The simple fact of the matter is, I’m addicted to Modern Warfare 3 (50 hours and counting). The real question is, can anything change that?

Metal Gear Solid has long been one of my favorite series (although only espion4ge has the right to say it gave him a gamertag!). I still remember watching my friend play through the entire Tanker chapter of MGS2 without even having a memory card to save on. When the new Metal Gear Solid HD Collection was released, I saw and seized the opportunity to own two of my favorite games of all time and a third game (Peace Walker) that I had never played.

I’ve been so busy in life lately that I actually forgot about E3 already being under way. I know that big titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Elder Scrolls V are coming out at the end of this year, but does Microsoft have any interesting games up its sleeves? Weren’t there supposed to be Kinect games for hardcore gamers announced this year? Why have you forsaken the hardcore gamer, Microsoft?

So we’ve made it once again to the end of another year, and cmfl3x and I decided to recap our 5 most anticipated titles for 2010 since we’re getting ready to share our top 2011 titles for 2011. It’s been a pretty long time since I picked up the Big Boss PSP bundle back in June. What happened to it? With all of my articles devoted to Starcraft 2 as of late, some of you may be wondering if I had even played it yet. The answer is most definitely yes. I’ve been playing Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker on my hour long commute home from work every day now for the past month, and I’ve actually already gotten the credits to roll but the game has so much post-game that I suspect that I will eventually hit 100 hours in this game. I just started playing Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker at the end of last week after beating Portable Ops. This past weekend, I took my wife to the mall (as usual) and with the Metal Gear Solid games not working too well for portability in a mall, I decided to bring my DS and Dragon Quest IX instead. After putting about an hour or two into both games now, I’ve started to really enjoy both. I like each so much that I had a very difficult time deciding what to play today on the subway. So…I ended up packing both my DS Lite and my PSP into my bag to bring to work. This can’t keep happening though. Only one will become the victor…who will it be?

It’s been about a month and a half since I picked up the Big Boss PSP bundle, as I was so excited to play Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Of course, it was recommended that I play through Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops first, and so I’ve finally done so. Now Peace Walker is finally sitting in my PSP! In any case, I am ready to share a review on Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. Is it still worth checking out today?

The worst thing about the Big Boss bundle? No plastic case for the game
As of Tuesday, I am a new owner of the Big Boss PSP! I’ve been fiddling around with it the last few days and playing it a bit on my subway commute to/from work. In this article, I’ll provide some impressions on the actual Big Boss PSP package itself as well as my thoughts and experiences overall as a first time PSP owner.
Seeing the Peace Walker bundle everywhere in Tokyo definitely didn’t make things any easier.
This past weekend, my wife gave me the permission to buy the PSP Big Boss Bundle! Good thing too, since I had already secretly pre-ordered it last weekend (was worried they would stop the pre-orders too close to release date). Originally I thought I would hide it from her, but that’s no fun – I don’t want to play my PSP in secret…so I made some strong arguments: told her that my commute to and from work every day is basically an hour long on the subway, and I’ll probably be on this commute for the the rest of my working career and I need as much stuff as I can do on the train. Plus, Gamestop is having various trade-in deals (50% bonus trade-in credit on anything through the end of this week) so I was able to trade in some older 360 games I’m no longer playing to minimize the cost of my new PSP. That and she got a new job, so I was able to ride off her happiness by sneaking in a request for this purchase.
Now that I’m going to be a PSP owner tomorrow, I’ve sat down and put together a list of games I plan to pick up for it. And like the DS and its classic franchises: Advance Wars, Phoenix Wright, and Professor Layton, the PSP also some excellent titles.
